After the half term holidays Embleton View School, Coundon site welcomed two new members to our KS3 class. The new arrivals needed their environment to be set up and the pupils did an amazing job.
The positive benefits of keeping hamsters are they have calm, chill personalities, making them great emotional support animals.
We have linked pet care into the school curriculum and introduced an NCFE Animal Care unit which will cover animal health and welfare, animal behavior and handling, maintaining animal accommodation and practical animal feeding.
The pupils have been using ICT to research how to care for the new pets and watching YouTube videos on how to introduce them to the class.
Wednesday saw the arrival of two Roborovski dwarf hamsters. Everyone please meet Betty and Iris.
